with all due respect to sir storms report at fas...... for everybody's perusal....
"PMA milsim episode 02, jan 17 to 18 2009, PMA, Baguio City
Episode Report:
i was heading up to baguio with my fellow red wing comrades korn and gerald, i couldnt resist thinking what
we were in for. i was looking forward to this game the last year when it was suddenly postponed due to a
red alert status at the venue. i could help to be optimistic to get my efforts wort of action adventure and
challenge from this event.
we arrived at camp gregorio del pilar around 330am, met by sir ferdzc of delta elite and routed to the hq/war room
(yep a true blue war room were cadets conduct battlefield assesments simulations) were all the other participants
were gearing up and prepped to jump off. we were assigend to bravo platoon which was task to take a strategic point
sumwhere in the pma forests and observe enemy movement, set up a forward operating base and conduct combat patrols in
the area.
Forward Op Base:
missions were handed out thru radio messages in muilitary format complete with grid coordinates to be plotted on your map
(yeah a lot of us forgot or hadnt had the patience anymore to read and plot a map) thanks to our airforce player who did the
reading and plotting and utilized his gps on finding the right place. team leadership was rotated for each evolution, on this patrol
Sir vice of team masibeg of pangasinan was our top honcho, we moved out in the dark traversed first the streets of the academy then cutting into
the forest lined with pines steep slopes uneven terrain and unforgiving thin air and freezing cold. all of us carried in our packs
our equipment, essential gear mres water and other important utilities such as shovels, urc radios training
grenades, flares etc.
me and my shooters from red wing run point for this first evolution, while our platoon followed a ome 50 mtrs
behind us we moved in th cover of dark, halting, clearing possible ambush areas and tracking towards our coordinates
the march alone and finding the spot for our FOB was already a challenge, we arrived at around 0600 and were given
instructions by our PMA guide/instructor on constructing perimeter defenses and op points, we did some fox hole and
defense trenches around the FOB which was a hill overlooking forest paths to and from i really dunno. (sum said if u go down there u
wouldnt miss kenon road not before some army ranger tags you) We had our admin hour or chow time and preps around
0800 and went into defensive position at around 0900. me and my boys being a sniper section, were tasked to cover an overwatch of 2 paths from the forest wich led directly
to our FOB. it was really a test of patience as we waited and anticipated for an attack. at around 10, our platoon ldr
decided to conduct a patrol using a seven man recon team composed of shooters from team masibeg and pampanga troops
after the a while we got report our recon team has encountered enemy emplacements and was able to tag 3 troopers frm
the opposing camp. after retrieving valuable info from the encounter we were instructed to move out and return to hq.
i was selected Pltn leader fot this op. i organized the platoon to move out on a swift yet vigilant fashion
and briefed them tht it was possible tht enemy forces would conduct ambushes and patrols after the encounter. i
assigned my sniper section and a lead scout familiar with the terrain to scout ahead of the main force, the road
back to hq was steep and there were many ambush areas. we moved on defensive overwatch position, we turned haste to
cautios. sumwhere in the bend the usual security halt seemed to long, when i saw the hand signal of the scouts for
leader forward as i approached i found my sniper section already on perch shooter and spooter while my scout informed
me that they have sighted an ambush ahead. i gave a full muster command for the platoon to get ready to engage
moving thru another route was improbable due to the steep terrain and after one of my men called out hit a few meters behind us
so we were box in. and we had to fight it out. what we had right now is a table turned element of surprise.
yes, the enemy was about to ambush us but they did not know that we have spotted their ambush. i instructed some of my team mates
to do a pincer maneuver to the left. a few moments all hell broke out. the oppossing forced was off balance rushing towards the
pincer manuever not knowing they were exposing their flank to a full mustered main force. casualty from the opposing force was heavy
while our team also took casualties. after an hour of the fire fight game over was sounded. and as we emer5ged from the bushes we
found our oppossing force to be fellow airsofters from delta elite all smiles and banter. we together marched back to camp to prepare to storm
an enemy postion in another coordinates in that map as relayed via radio message. players were filled with animated action stories and situations
of the 1st 2 evolutions of the PMA milsim games and its just day 1 beginning. to be continued..
let me allow our fellow participants to continue the story please do
add to these..
my event rating for this event is outrageously closest to the real thing, uber challenging for both physical and mental capabilities a must for the serious
milsim players and teams. not just your everday run around and shoot em spray and pray games. its more of field craft, learning to work and fight together
and above all this is where you meet your cruelest and hardest opponent; yourself.. again a game for the airsoft event hall of fame, and most importantly
made new alliances called friends. hooyah!"
