Comrades/ Sirs
Our home ground g9 was in a thread at FAS today authored by FRIENDLY FIRE.
I don't recall discussing matters as our own troops posting in public fora as FAS or any other site but for the request I made to our guests that, for the time being at least ,the location and other details pertinent to g9 be kept from public view.
This was the same unwritten policy followed at North Camp.
No explicit prohibition against posting data about site operations stands. But I think everyone of us will much rather that our guests take the initiative of posting comments and material be these positive or critical of us (SOAR and CCAG). In this recent case, it was our one of own who took the initiative with supposed authorization. an individual from CCAG
I'm quite sure he was well meaning but nevertheless, being low key is consistent with our alliance old practices and its a posture that has worked well for us.

We're trying hard comrade to avoid a repeat. I advised the concerned troop by text that the only time I brought up the matter was when I requested our guests to restrict info dissemination to only among their ranks.
Nothing wrong with posting shots per se nor to feel proud especially since the feedback's been positive. Its just that this guy broke rank with his enthusiasm and went further by explaining to me that I gave a go ahead. I seriously doubt that I did such a thing. If there's anything I always stress its our low key way of accomplishing things.
Quite different if its the guests' initiative, That wasn't the case here. By posting at this juncture the party drum beats prematurely (KSP ang dating) which we don't really need . Prior to this the exchange was strictly between our alliance and SOE and its own allied forces. Not even SOE who swears by the quality of our play took off its gag as this what was agreed upon. SOE apparently is well aware of our stand and wouldn't have gone public had our own not bannered it with a thread. SOE must've said to themselves "akala namin private, eh ba't naka post/"
This is the second time a loose cannon kinda posting has happened. In the first incident we immediately requested for the maps' removal along with other details. Why do we discourage it? Simply because its like ringing the bell to mainstream gamers who don't necessarily agree with our system. Those and the other conceivable problems advertising bring. I thought maybe the ripples that first post caused would've been enough to discourage further ads. Obviously a wrong assumption.
But just to make it clear lets huddle tomorrow. The tradition stands but applies only among us It does not cover our guests. Guests are under no obligation to fulfill that end of an agreement just like when we declare they can cheat or take short cuts but not us.
